A northbound freight train derailed Friday night in Olathe.
No one was injured when the Burlington Northern Sante Fe freight jumped from the track at about 9:10 p.m. at Dennis Avenue.
The train did not overturn. No cars decoupled and there were no spills, said a dispatcher from the Olathe Fire Department which responded and remained on the scene until about 12:30 a.m. Saturday
Railroad personnel soon took over to return the train to its rails.
