Catholic Charities has a new name for its food pantry at 2825 S. Hillside – Our Daily Bread.

“Regardless of your faith, the words ‘Give us this day our daily bread’ are familiar, and the prayer brings comfort when said in any language,” said Cynthia Colbert, Catholic Charities director. The name also recalls the service of the food pantry that used to be in that location – Bread of Life.

Catholic Charities’ food pantry used to be next to the St. Anthony Family Shelter just east of downtown before moving in February, and was simply known as the food pantry, said Heather Welch of Catholic Charities.
