Infant hospitalized with extensive bruising

A 1-year-old boy was placed into protective custody after he was brought to a local hospital Tuesday night with a broken collar bone and other injuries consistent with abuse, police said.

The infant was brought to Wesley Medical Center just before 11:45 p.m. Tuesday with “extensive bruising” and the broken collar bone, a police report states. Two people have been questioned in connection with the injuries, the report states, but no arrests have been made in the case.

The Exploited and Missing Child Unit is investigating the incident.
