House fire reported on Washington in south Wichita

Fire damaged a house in south Wichita early Friday morning, authorities said.

The fire was reported shortly after 6 a.m. in the 2200 block of South Washington, which is just north of Pawnee, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. Firefighters needed nearly an hour to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported. In fact, the supervisor said, the house may be vacant.

No damage estimate or cause have been released.
