Students at Gardiner Elementary School in Wichita will get a visit today from former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Eddie Kennison and Chiefs mascot K.C. Wolf.

The school was named the grand prize winner of the state’s Fuel Up to Play 60 skit challenge for its video showing how students get active each day.

Fuel Up to Play 60 is a school nutrition and physical activity program sponsored by the National Dairy Council and the NFL, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The program encourages young people to eat healthy foods and get at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

Gardiner Elementary, 1951 S. Laura, won this year’s grand prize for its skit showing how children at the school play basketball, jump rope and walk with pedometers.

Students will be rewarded with a schoolwide assembly this afternoon.
