A church and a radio station are joining to give away free gasoline on Saturday.

Kingdom Harvest Church of Wichita and Power 93.9 FM will give away $5,000 worth of gas from noon to 1 p.m. at the Presto at 1350 N. Oliver in Wichita.

The first 250 vehicles will receive $20 worth of unleaded gas. No premium gas or diesel fuel will be given.

Cars, minivans, SUVs, and pickups are allowed. Free gas will not be given for gas cans, boats, RVs, commercial vehicles, or vehicles used for work..

The church said the event is a way to help the community during difficult economic times.

“As a church, our primary goal is always to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ. We also want to impact the lives of people in a relevant way, especially at a time when so many are trying to recover from the recent economic downturn,” DeAndre Morris, senior pastor of Kingdom Harvest Church, said in a written statement.
