Wichita police are searching for a burgundy 2005 Pontiac Grand Am thought to be involved in a credit union robbery this morning.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the robbery at the Credit Union of America at 10222 E. Harry, between Webb Road and Greenwich.
Authorities said two masked men robbed the credit union shortly before 10 a.m. One of the men was armed with a silver handgun; the other carried mace. The men were wearing handkerchiefs over their faces, said an emergency dispatcher.
During the robbery, three of the Credit Union employees were sprayed with mace. The robbers escaped with an unknown amount of cash.
Wichita police are searching for the men, who were last seen driving east on Harry in a burgundy 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. The Kansas license plate is 513 EVD. It is thought to be a Sedgwick County license plate, the dispatcher said.
Police are encouraging anyone who was near the bank or who may have noticed anything suspicious to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
