A 21-year-old Wichita man’s eyeball was punctured early Saturday after he was attacked by an angry mother in retribution for an alleged assault on the woman’s 12-year-old daughter, Wichita police said.
The incident began shortly after midnight at an apartment in the 4900 block of East Harry, Wichita Police Sgt. Scott Brunow said, when the man allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old girl.
Later in the evening, the girl’s 32-year-old mother found out about the alleged assault and attacked the man with a high-heeled shoe. Brunow said the man was struck several times in the head and face, with one strike puncturing the man’s eyeball. He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on Harry for medical treatment, but police had no condition.
The 32-year-old woman was booked by police on suspicion of aggravated assault, Brunow said, but the 21-year-old man has not been charged with any crime.
