An 18-year-old Newton woman is in critical condition after she was ejected from a vehicle that rolled over Monday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the woman was hurt after the Chevrolet SUV she was riding in rolled over on I-135 just south of K-196.
The KHP said the vehicle rolled after the left, rear tire blew out and the driver, a 47-year-old Newton woman, lost control. Both women were transported to Wesley Medical Center.
The 47-year-old woman, who the highway patrol said was wearing a seat belt, is in fair condition, the hospital said. The 18-year-old woman was not wearing a seatbelt, the highway patrol said.
