KAKE-TV and Cox Communications have reached an agreement that will allow the cable company to continue broadcasting KAKE-TV signals after midnight tonight.
KAKE announced shortly after 5 p.m. that it had reached an agreement that ensures that the signals of Wichita’s ABC-affiliated station will remain available on the cable company’s lineup.
The negotiations were conducted between Cox and KAKE’s owner, Gray Television, of Atlanta. Both sides said earlier that the failure to reach an agreement during the “retransmission consent” negotiations would mean that Cox would not be able to broadcast ABC programming in 2012.
Neither side would discuss terms of the settlement.
