Five people were injured — two critically — in a two-car, head-on crash Thursday night, according to a Sedgwick County dispatcher.
The accident happened just before 10:30 p.m. near 87th Street South and 143rd Street East, near Derby.
One victim in critical condition was flown by Eagle-Med helicopter to Wesley Hospital, the dispatcher said. He remained in critical condition late Friday afternoon, according to a supervisor at Wesley. A 25-year-old, also critical, was transported by vehicle. He was listed in fair condition Friday afternoon.
Three others with less serious injuries — a 19-year-old man, a 26-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man — were taken Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment, the dispatcher said. The woman and 19-year-old were listed in fair condition, a Via Christi spokeswoman said. The 55-year-old’s condition was not available.
