Police are investigating a report that a 22-year-old man was attacked by four men who struck him in the head with a hammer.
Police are asking people to call 911 or Crime Stoppers, 267-2111, if they saw the incident or have information about it.
When a friend of the man took him to Via Christi Hospital on Harry about 12:30 a.m. today, he had a four-inch cut on the back of his head. The wound required staples, but the man was not admitted to the hospital, police Lt. Doug Nolte said.
The man said he had been attacked by four men with a hammer about 1:30 p.m. Monday near Lincoln and Oliver, that he had been struck multiple times and that he made his way home, Nolte said.
