Two funds have been set up at Emprise Bank to assist members of the family critically injured in the house fire on North Minnesota earlier this week.
Investigators are still trying to determine what started the fire that destroyed the house at 726 N. Minnesota shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday. All three members of the family that lived there were found outside by firefighters when they arrived at the house near Murdock and I-135, authorities have said.
They are being treated in the burn unit of Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis. Willbert Reed Jr., 28, has been upgraded to serious condition, but Mikayla Frierson, 21, and Kymani Reed, 2, remained in critical condition on Friday morning.
Monetary donations may be made to either the Willbert & Kymani Reed Victim Fund or the Mikayla Frierson Victim Funds and sent to Emprise Bank, Box 2970, Wichita, KS 67201.
Donations of gifts, clothing and personal items are being coordinated by the Rev. Michael Tyson Sr. of Whole Truth Tabernacle Church. Tyson has asked that anyone who wants to donate to call on him at 316-312-3486 so he can tell them where items can be dropped off.
