A 46-year-old man is in a local hospital and his drinking buddy is in jail after a verbal dispute Saturday afternoon in south Wichita ended in a stabbing, police say.
The argument broke out shortly before 5 p.m. near Gilbert and Waco, Sgt. Jesse Boomer said. The two had been drinking, he said. As the dispute continued, a 49-year-old man stabbed the 46-year-old in the back with a sharp object.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and he is in fair condition today. Boomer said it's not clear what weapon was used to stab the man.
