The media's Big 12 preseason football poll won't create much hype for fans in the Sunflower State counting down the days until the season starts.
Kansas State is predicted to finish eighth and Kansas 10th in the new-look, 10-team Big 12 in voting by media members.
The results don't come as much of a surprise. The Wildcats (7-6, 3-5 Big 12) finished third in the Big 12 North last season, and tied Iowa State and Texas Tech for seventh overall. The Jayhawks (3-9, 1-7) are coming off a last-place finish, and are expected to end up in the cellar once again.
Oklahoma, which claimed 41 first-place votes, is predicted to win the league, with Texas A&M coming next and Oklahoma State third. Both the Aggies and Cowboys also received a first-place vote.
The Missouri Tigers are predicted to finish fourth, followed by Texas, Baylor and Texas Tech. Iowa State is tabbed for a ninth-place finish.
