WICHITA — A 22-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital, and his 49-year-old boyfriend is in jail after an incident at their Planeview residence early this morning, police said.
The victim walked into the QuikTrip at Pawnee and Hillside at about 4:20 a.m. and asked for help, Lt. Doug Nolte said. He had a severe cut on his neck and multiple stab wounds all over his body.
He told officers he had been attacked by his boyfriend at their house in the 3800 block of East Roseberry in Planeview. Officers went to the house, where they saw obvious signs of a struggle — including blood stains, Nolte said.
The boyfriend was booked into jail. A hammer identified as the weapon was taken into evidence, a police report stated.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and immediately into surgery, Nolte said. Hospital officials are not releasing an updated condition for the victim.
Police aren't sure what started the argument that prompted the attack, Nolte said.
