WICHITA — Police have determined a shooting on Sunday happened as two men were leaving a dice game, Lt. Doug Nolte said today.
The two walked out of a house in the 2200 block of East Audrey, near 21st and Grove, where the game was going on when two other men confronted them, Nolte said. Police think the two had been involved in the game.
One of the two men produced a gun and hit one of the victims over the head with it. The gun went off, but did not hit the man. As the victim ran, the one with the gun shot him, police said.
Police have identified the men involved, but no arrests had been made as of Monday morning, Nolte said. The two also took money from the other man, he said.
The shooting victim was taken by private vehicle to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, according to the police report. He was treated and released.
