Scattered thunderstorms are possible this morning and again tonight in the region, forecasters say, with much cooler temperatures on tap for today and Saturday.
Highs today will top out in the mid- to upper 80s, with mostly cloudy skies and north winds in the teens occasionally gusting beyond 20 miles an hour. Thunderstorms with hail, heavy rain and gusty winds are possible again tonight, forecasters say, though the best chances for those will be along and east of the Kansas Turnpike.
Lows will be in the mid-60s under mostly cloudy skies, and Saturday brings more chances of strong thunderstorms, with highs in the low 80s.
