WICHITA — The city of Wichita is using a federal program to offer free paint for people who meet income guidelines and whose property is in targeted areas, the city announced today.
The targeted area is bounded by I-235, Pawnee, 25th Street North and Hillside. It also includes some areas in Hilltop and Planeview neighborhoods.
Qualified property owners are eligible for up to $200 in paint. The annual income limit for a single-person household is $35,700 and $50,950 for a four-person household.
Seniors and people with certain disabilities may also qualify for a grant to defray costs of painting.

The program runs through Sept 15 and is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. For more information, call the city's Neighborhood Improvement Services Division at 462-3713.
