In early election results, Mike Burke and incumbent Mark Funkhouser were leading in the primary vote for Kansas City mayor.
Burke was pulling 26 percent of the vote and Funkhouser 24 percent.
The numbers represented the vote from almost all of Clay County in the Northland and only a few precincts from the Jackson County portion of Kansas City. No Platte County votes were yet tallied.
Among other candidates, Deb Hermann had 20 percent, Sly James 17 percent, Jim Rowland 9 percent and Henry Klein 1 percent.
The top two finishers will face off in the March 22 general election.
