COLUMBIA, Mo. | The University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine is getting a $3.4 million endowment from the late James Redhage, and the gift is in honor of his dogs.
The university announced the estate endowment on Friday. Redhage was a lifelong resident of Pike County in northeast Missouri. He died in 2008. He noted the strong bond he had with his dogs, Red, Pepper and Pepper II.
The university says that Red had been treated at the college, and Redhage was so pleased with the care he decided to donate the money.
