WICHITA —"I'm going to shoot you."
That's what a 62-year-old resident reportedly heard Thursday night when he answered a knock at his front door.
He saw a man pointing a black handgun at him.
After uttering the threatening words, the gunman laughed and ran from the front porch, police Lt. Doug Nolte said today.
The resident heard a gunshot after the suspect ran away.
The incident was reported around 8:42 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of North Mathewson.
"Obviously, this is a concern for the neighborhood," Nolte said.
Police are asking that anyone with information about the incident call Crime Stoppers, 267-2111.
The gunman was described as an unknown black male in his teens or early 20s, about 5 feet 10 and 150 pounds and wearing a black ski mask and bright white parka with the hood up.
