The Goddard school board voted unanimously Monday to appoint Justin Henry as the district's next superintendent, officials said.
Henry will begin his new duties July 1, following the retirement of current superintendent Charles Edmonds.
Henry is currently superintendent of the Southeast of Saline district in Gypsum, Kan. At Goddard his salary will be $138,000 a year, plus a fringe benefit of $12,000 that includes a vehicle allowance, cell phone allowance and meeting stipend. The board also will pay up to $5,000 for Henry's moving expenses.
Henry and his wife, Mandy, have two children — McKenzie, 6, and Brent, 4.
