Wichita police were called to La Quinta Inn & Suites on East Kelloggshortly after 1 a.m. Sunday after an employee reported a disturbance ata party.
The 24-year-old male employee told police that two women, ages 17 and 19, were hosting a party when an aunt received word her12-year-old niece had been jumped at the party by other women, accordingto Sgt. Steve Yarberry, spokesman with the Wichita Police Department.
"She showed up on the scene armed with a 12-inch knife, attempted topush her way into the victim's room, while waving the knife around,"Yarberry said. "The suspect was adamant on finding the females whojumped her niece."
The 33-year-old aunt was arrested by police and booked for aggravatedassault and several warrants.
No injuries were reported.
