WICHITA — Three children have been taken into protective custody by police after concerns were raised by SRS over the care the oldest was receiving at home, police said.
The Exploited and Missing Child Unit was notified after staff at Gordon Parks Academy, 2201 E. 25th North, learned of health care the oldest of the three girls, a 9-year-old, was receiving at home. Her two sisters, ages 6 and 5, were also taken into protective custody.
The 9-year-old girl, who is handicapped, was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment, police reports indicate. No arrests have been made, but the investigation is continuing.
