A pleasant Friday is in the forecast for the Wichita area, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-50s under sunny skies.
Winds will be calm, then stir out of the south but stay in single digits. Overnight lows will be around freezing.
This is December, however, and the weekend will be a stern reminder of that. A chance of rain, then snow comes Saturday afternoon, with northerly winds intensifying as the day wears on. Gusts will top 30 miles an hour.
Highs will be in the low 40s, but that will come early in the day. Lows on a blustery night will slide into the teens, and Sunday’s high will only make it to the upper 20s.
