The Chiefs don't have to declare a player's status for a game until Friday, so they passed on making any such declarations for quarterback Matt Cassel regarding Sunday's meeting with San Diego.
But Cassel didn't practice today and if he doesn't go by tomorrow, the Chiefs will have to break one of Todd Haley's policies in order to use him against the Chargers.
''The policy is you have to have some semblance of practice,'' Haley said. ''We'll see as the week plays out exactly where we are. Right now we’ve got two days under our belt and we’ve got two more left.’’
