Law enforcement authorities continued the search today for a missing child after they discovered a capsized boat and the bodies of two adults in Coffey County.
They are searching both on land and in water at the John Redmond Reservoir in southeastern Kansas.
The Coffey County Sheriff's office received a report at noon Saturday that a small boat had capsized in the frigid waters of John Redmond.
The bodies of two adults were discovered near the boat.
A third victim, a child, is still missing.
The occupants of the boat were reported to have been waterfowl hunting.
Temperatures Saturday in the Coffey County area ranged from in the highs of mid-40s to a low overnight of 28 degrees; winds gusts were 11 to 35 mph.
The names of the victims have yet been released.
Officers from the Coffey County Sheriff's office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, Coffey County Fire District No. 1, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Coffey County EMS and Coffey County Water Rescue Team are all involved in the search.
