Officials with the EPA and Kansas Department of Health and Environment will talk about air quality standards in a workshop Tuesday morning with Wichita City Council members and Sedgwick County Commissioners.
The Wichita metro area has been on the brink of exceeding ozone standards for years. By the end of the month, the EPA is expected to announce even stricter standards. If Wichita and its neighbors exceed the new limits, new economic restrictions and highway studies could cost the region millions. (more…)
