A 20-year-old Wichita man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a party in a rural Reno County field early Sunday morning that injured two people — one of them seriously.
Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said the man is accused of driving a vehicle toward a crowd of people gathered for a going-away party at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in a field in the 1600 block of West 56th Street.
The vehicle hit two people, Henderson said: Matt Price, 23, and Kayley Coley, 21, both of Hutchinson.
Price was flown by air ambulance to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in Wichita, while Coley's injuries were minor.
Price was listed in serious condition at St. Francis today, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
The vehicle connected to the incident fled the scene, Henderson said, but was stopped later on K-96 near Maize. Three people in the car were returned to Reno County for questioning.
The investigation into the incident continues, Henderson said.
