Residents of the Wichita metropolitan area could awaken to patchy frost this morning, forecasters say, as lows in the upper 30s were expected overnight. Widespread frost is expected in the Flint Hills and southeast Kansas.
Temperatures should warm up to about 70 today in the Wichita area, with light southerly winds topping out in the low teens under mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows should stay in the mid-40s, forecasters say, and Tuesday should be warmer, with highs in the upper 70s. Skies should be sunny, with stronger winds out of the south gusting to more than 20 miles an hour.
