WICHITA —Police are looking for a woman suspected of shoplifting from a T.J. Maxx in west Wichita Friday afternoon and then striking a store employee with her car as she left.
The incident occurred at about 2:15 p.m. in the 6900 block of West Kellogg, Sgt. Steve Yarberry said. An 18-year-old store employee told police he saw the woman shoplift before leaving the store. He followed her out to her car and confronted her, where they exchanged words.
She got into her maroon Chevy Impala, and he began walking back to the store. As she was leaving, her car hit his right knee, knocking him down, police said.
He was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening. The driver was described as a black woman in her 20s with short black hair, about 5-feet-4 and 200 pounds.
