WICHITA — A 22-year-old man found late Tuesday night lying unresponsive in a Planeview yard may have medical problems, said Lt. Ken Landwehr of the Wichita Police Department.
Police officers were called to the 3900 block of Roseberry in the Planeview neighborhood shortly before midnight.
"Residents in that area observed a man who had been staying with them the last couple of days had passed out in the front yard of their residence," Landwehr said. "The individual was taken to Wesley Medical Center where he is in critical condition at this time."
Initially, Landwehr said, police believe the man may have been assaulted.
"After medical had looked at him, it appears they did not find any assault injuries," Landwehr said. "We believe this may have been a medical call or possibly a prior assault that may have caused him to have some internal injuries now causing some problems."
Authorities are not releasing the man's name, pending notification of family.
