Scattered showers that moved across portions of Kansas overnight have brought cooler temperatures to the region, sending Wichita to a low of 52 degrees this morning.
The skies are expected to clear as the day progresses and temperatures will climb to the low 70s.
According to forecasters with the National Weather Service, the cooler temperatures are the result of a Canadian ridge of high pressure that's settled across the plains. It may cause the lows Tuesday night to dip into the low 40s.
A chance for rain returns to the forecast later this week.
