WICHITA — Wichita police are looking for a man who apparently tried to abduct a 16-year-old girl Wednesday as she was walking home from West High School.
Lt. Steve Kenney said the girl was walking near Orient and Vine about 4 p.m. when a man drove up and said her parents had asked him to give her a ride.
When the girl asked the man for her parents' names, Kenney said, he was unable to provide an answer and drove away.
The suspect was described as a white male, from 35 to 40 years old, who was balding, had a mustache and goatee, and had a gap in his front teeth.
The man was driving a gray late 1990s "box" style car with Kansas tags, Kenney said.
