WICHITA — Several local law enforcement agencies made 43 arrests this week as part of the 8th annual National Family Violence Warrant Apprehension detail, which focuses on people wanted for family violence warrants.
The sweep on Tuesday involved more than 150 law enforcement agencies nationwide. Locally, agencies participating included the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Department of Corrections and police departments from Wichita, Bel Aire, Derby, Park City, Maize and Haysville.
The agencies made 192 attempts to serve warrants associated with family violence. That resulted in 43 arrests and 54 warrants being cleared.
