HUTCHINSON — The Kansas State Fair drew more people that it has in a dozen years.
Figures released today show this year's State Fair attracted more people than it has in all but three years in the past four decades.
Fair officials said 354,184 clicked through the gates in Hutchinson this year.
The total exceeded last year's by 3,328, a .9 percent increase — and marking the fair's highest attendance since 1998, officials said.
Never miss a local story.
It's also the fourth-highest attendance figure for the State Fair since 1978. Only 1995, 1997 and 1998 fairs drew more people.
