WICHITA — Road construction on West Kellogg between 119th and 111th Streets will limit eastbound traffic to one lane for two weeks, starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, city of Wichita officials announced today.
The one-lane restriction will continue overnight and on weekends until the project's expected completion, Oct. 22. Repairs will be made to the pavement base, and the existing asphalt surface will be milled off and replaced with two inches of new asphalt.
"Motorists who normally travel eastbound on Kellogg during the peak morning traffic hours should allow for additional travel time, or might even want to take another route during these two weeks," said Jim Armour, a city of Wichita engineer.
The project will include repairs to the westbound lanes of Kellogg at the 111th Street intersection only. Those repairs will be performed between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
