WICHITA — A routine traffic stop thwarted what appears to have been an abduction, Wichita police said today.
An officer pulled over a car for a traffic violation at 12th and Minneapolis at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, and discovered that the passenger had a warrant out for his arrest.
After the 29-year-old man had been handcuffed, the woman driving the car told police she had been robbed and forced to drive off with the passenger.
He now faces the possibility of robbery and kidnapping charges along with the aggravated battery charge for which the arrest warrant was issued.
