TOPEKA | A hearing on an ethics complaint against former University of Kansas athletic director Lew Perkins has been rescheduled for January.
The complaint alleges that Perkins violated state law by improperly accepting gifts of exercise equipment and physical therapy sessions.
The Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission had scheduled a hearing for Nov. 16.
But Ethics Commission general counsel Judy Moler says the hearing has been rescheduled for Jan. 25.
Never miss a local story.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Perkins' attorney, Stephen McAllister, asked for a continuance because Perkins had a prior commitment that will take him out of the state Nov. 16.
Perkins, who retired in September, could be fined up to $15,000.
