BENTON — A rash of fatal accidents recently on K-254 has prompted law enforcement and highway officials to organize a forum tonight in Benton to discuss the problem.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Benton Church, K-254 and Main Street in Benton.
Scheduled to appear as part of a panel is Gary Warner of the Kansas Highway Patrol; Tom Hein of KDOT, and Charles Hefton, Benton's police chief.
Three people were killed and another person critically injured in three accidents over three days earlier this month. In both cases where people were killed, drivers traveling north ran stop signs and were struck by east-bound traffic on K-254.
Never miss a local story.
The public is invited to attend and to participate. For more information, call 316-778-1001.
