A 5-year-old Wichita boy died and eight others were injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday evening near Neosho, Mo., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Andre E. Gracey of Wichita was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a passenger in a 2001 Honda that was westbound on U.S. 60, two miles east of Neosho, when a 2006 Ford driven by a Granby, Mo., man ran a stop sign and pulled into the Honda's path about 6:26 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol. Both cars ran off the road after the collision and overturned on a steep embankment.
Emmanuel M. Gracey, 29, of Wichita, who was driving the Honda, suffered serious injuries, as did 7-year-old passenger Mark Gracey. Passengers Audray Gracey, 28, Dabrian Gracey, 2, and Roy Cargile, 16, all of Wichita, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries and were treated at a Joplin hospital, according to the Highway Patrol.
The Ford driver and an adult female passenger suffered serious injuries, and a 1-year-old boy passenger suffered minor injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.
