WICHITA — You can find out if you have unclaimed cash and property in the hands of the state on Friday.
State officials will be at Atwater City Hall, 2755 E. 19th St., from noon to 3:30 p.m. Friday as part of a statewide tour.
You can search for property in your name or that of relatives.
The state's unclaimed property account has more than $200 million in inactive savings and checking accounts, uncashed checks, stock shares and bonds, dividend checks, insurance proceeds, mineral royalties and utility deposits. The list includes 192,927 unclaimed properties valued at over $25 million in Sedgwick County.
Making a claim is free and easy. There are no fees involved in searching for or claiming cash and property. To search, a last name is required and a first name is recommended.
Residents who are unable to attend the Atwater City Hall session can call the State Treasurer's office at 800-432-0386 or log onto www.KansasCash.com to search for unclaimed property.
