WICHITA — He got away with the break-in, but his downfall arrived when he tried to cash in.
A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday when he tried to pawn the second of two French racing bicycles from the 1970s that had been stolen from a nearby shed two days earlier, police said.
The burglary was reported in the 1900 block of Park Place on Monday. Officers went to King's Pawn Shop in the 1900 block of North Broadway on Tuesday.
One of the bikes had already been pawned there, so officers waited to see if the second would show up as well.
It did on Wednesday, and the suspect was taken into custody.
