WICHITA — No injuries were reported this afternoon when a small airplane tipped onto its nose after landing at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport.
Emergency dispatchers said the accident occurred about 5:45 p.m. near the Cessna Citation Service Center, 2121 S. Hoover.
Wichita Airport Authority assistant director of airports Brad Christopher said the Cessna 210 Centurion with three people on board was landing at Mid-Continent's Runway 19 Left when the pilot reported that the airplane was pulling to the left.
The aircraft left the runway and went into a grassy area before the nose gear collapsed, he said.
Yingling Aviation president Lynn Nichols said he didn't see what happened but went outside when he heard the sirens. He said the plane's nose was down and its tail was in the air, he said.
"It looks like it's in pretty good shape from a distance," he said.
