WICHITA — Kansas State Fair general manager Denny Stoecklein said today that classic rock band ZZ Top has canceled its Sept. 19 concert at the fair in Hutchinson.
Stoecklein said the band's managers told him ZZ Top has signed up with another tour that begins its run before the Sept. 19 appearance and continues into early October.
"We are very disappointed in this action," Stoecklein said. "ZZ Top and its management authorized us to announce the concert, authorized us to go on sale with tickets, and had issued a contract."
He said the fair has contacted the Kansas attorney general's office to explore what recourse it has to recover damages associated with the cancellation.
