A 22-year-old Kansas City man died late Thursday when the car he was driving lost control and overturned in Kansas City, North. Three friends in his car told police that the driver swerved to avoid a deer.
The other passengers were not injured, according to Officer Brian Masterson of the Police Department’s accident investigations unit.
The victim, identified as Eric Luna, was driving westbound on N.W. Tiffany Springs Road, approaching Ambassador shortly before midnight, when the car lost control, rotated, hit the median and overturned. The car landed on the passenger side.
Luna was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was declared dead at a hospital.
