A 16-year-old girl's gunshot wound to her arm in rural Sedgwick County this morning is the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and not a drive-by shooting, sheriff's officials said.
The call at 11:21 a.m. from a house in the 14900 block of West Birdseye was initially reported as a drive-by shooting, and law enforcement officers were told to look for a black four-door sedan.
The house is near 151st Street West and 71st Street South, just east of Clonmel southwest of Wichita.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies heard one gunshot from inside and went into the house, where they found the girl.
The teen was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.
