WICHITA (--) Individuals and small businesses that need help solving tax problems in the Wichita area can get some face-to-face help from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Internal Revenue service center, 271 W. Third St.
It's part of a nationwide "Open House" when about 200 IRS offices will be available to assist taxpayers.
"We know there are people who are having some problems with their taxes," said Michael Devine, a spokesman for the agency's Kansas-Missouri office.
Individuals may go into the office Saturday or call the center at 316-352-7401.
Two other open houses are planned for two Saturdays in June, the 5th and 26th. Devine said he expects the Wichita service center will again be open on those dates but that it depends on this Saturday's response.
When a nationwide open house was held March 27, the IRS said 88 percent of the taxpayers who came in for help had their issues resolved that same day.
