All Wichita River Festival activities, including the food court, are canceled for the day because of threatening weather.
Festival officials decided Monday morning to cancel the events rather than risk having people at events if dangerous storms hit.
"We didn't want to get everyone down here and then have them have to go back home," said Allyson Clark, a festival spokewomansman.
This is the first time current festival officials can remember a full day of activities being canceled because of weather.
Officials said they would try to reschedule the Gospelfest and "Family Reunion" play scheduled for tonight.
